Overview
K-Smart Tree Management Solution is a smart urban-forestry platform that predicts street-tree health and pest risks using IoT sensors and AI diagnostic models. Combining modular tree-protection hardware from our partner TREEMATE with Lumir's AI analytics software, it shifts reactive, analog tree maintenance to data-driven predictive management.
Why It Matters — Limits of Analog Management
- Reactive operations: post-incident handling of tree loss and falls raises safety risks → shift to data-driven prediction
- Labor-intensive monitoring: 8.2M+ street trees cannot be fully inspected manually → citizen-participation care via QR reporting
- Climate risk: surging pests and soil compaction degrade tree health → early diagnosis and prevention before problems occur
Product Composition
H/W — Modular Tree Guard (TREEMATE)
- Smart irrigation: a three-stage structure — water tank, drip irrigation below 10cm of the surface, then deep-root induction. Because it is not surface watering, it prevents soil compaction and optimizes root hydration
- Expandable module design: grows with the tree, preventing root lift and girdling
- Solar LED: no external power work required, 6-level brightness, auto-on after sunset, light-pollution-aware design
- High durability: 5-ton load capacity safe for pedestrians and vehicles, UV-resistant material preventing long-term discoloration and damage

S/W — AI Tree Management A-IoT Platform (Lumir)
- Data collection: periodic sensing of soil moisture, temperature/humidity, oxygen, light, EC, and pH
- AI analysis: pest-condition and anomaly diagnosis based on Faster R-CNN, YOLOX, and MobileNet
- Transport & infra: LPWAN/USIM wireless transmission with a city-scale secure cloud API architecture
- Admin dashboard: per-tree 3D monitoring, 3-month pest outbreak forecasting and tree vitality metrics, alerts and remote control
- Citizen participation: QR-scan reporting lets citizens generate data directly — an ESG-driven model

Citizen Living Lab
A participation flow of QR scan → report through the Living Lab app → data collection lets citizens report tree anomalies directly, turning each report into training data.

Integrated Operation Workflow
Sense (IoT sensors, citizen QR reports) → Diagnose (AI pest-pattern analysis) → Visualize (digital-twin dashboard alerts) → Act (irrigation and physical protection)
The pilot deployment combines 5 Sentinel Trees carrying precision sensors with 95 General Data Trees collecting baseline data, securing both sample precision and observation coverage.

Performance Targets
| Metric | Target |
|---|---|
| Tree damage detection rate | 80% |
| Early detection rate | 80% |
| Management time/cost reduction | 20% |
| Citizen participation rate | 30% |
